The beginning

Why Gopeshwar Kailash Math?

Vrindavan draws devotees from across India and the world. The vision behind Gopeshwar Kailash Math is to give those who come to Braj a place where they can stay, pray, participate in daily spiritual life and feel cared for.

The ashram is being developed under Kailash Ashram Charitable Trust Kashi, carrying the spirit of Kailash Math, Kashi into a new setting in Braj.

The campus is planned around temple worship, nivas, bhojan prasad, gaushala seva and wider social welfare.

Swami Ashutoshanand Giri Ji Maharaj

Swami Ashutoshanand Giri Ji Maharaj is the present Mahamandaleshwar associated with Kailash Math, Kashi. From an early search for spiritual knowledge, his path led through Haridwar and Kashi.

At Kailash Math he spent 14 years studying Nyaya, Grammar and Vedanta. He qualified NET (JRF), served as an Assistant Professor at Swami Vivekananda University, Kolkata, and embraced Sanyas in Kashi on Mahashivratri in March 2014.

Today his spiritual work includes narrations of Ram Katha, Bhagavat and Gita Gyana. The Gopeshwar Kailash Math project reflects a further dimension of that seva: a place in Braj where devotees can experience a simple, dignified and spiritually grounded stay.
